Distant asteroids and those containing water and interstellar spacecraft have dominated recent media headlines.
But the European Space Agency has decided to remind us of the very nearness of our planet, through its participation in a video.
On Wednesday morning, December 12, the agency released a great video featuring a set of "timelapse" images of the sun, showing its rare aerial activity with details never before seen.
All these images were taken using Proba-2, the second low-cost satellite included in the Proba scheme.
Although the weight of "PROBA-2" is small and does not exceed 130 kg, it is able to send large data to the ground around the sun.
